I just found this site by accident. Looking for anything that would keep the memory of Clays songs alive and kicking in my brain.
I may be prejudiced, but I think he deserves national recognition.. and I think the nation.. the world deserves.. nay.. needs to hear the words and sounds and feelings that Clay can convey in song.
He is better than most music that I hear on the radio.. no matter what station I listen to.. XM.. local.. Now, I'm just rotating Smoke and Steam, Gasoline Lolipops and Widows Bane.. along with a tape that Clay made of his mom, Donna Farar's songs.
He comes by it natural. His mom has written hundreds of songs.. and most likely, unless you are from Austin TX, you have only heard "The Last Thing I Needed".. which has been recorded by many TX artists.. most famous.. Willie. It got to #2 on the charts.
So.. share the love, share the music.. let's help get Clay the recognition that he deserves!!
love and peace,
Clay's aint Patti

"Winter Rose" puts a lump in my throat everytime I listen to it!
When I was taking Mikey to the airport to leave for bootcamp, he turned that song up, told me to wait for him, think of him when I listen to it, and that he was officially no longer my "little boy" but a Man.
While he was in Iraq, he wrote to me, asking for all the lyrics to your songs, so that he could at least imagine hearing them while he was there.
Your music brings an emotional power to me, as well as others!
Love and Appreciation,
Barb
